In folklore, gnomes take care of the creatures of the forest, especially the newborn, hurt or helpless. They live in lovely and quaint thatched roofed homes, in families. Gnome women always wear clean white aprons and long old fashioned dresses and kerchiefs over their heads, Gnome men wear sweaters, leggings, boots and red stocking caps. Gnomes go white haired early and gnome children wear diapers for 12 years!
